Andaman7 joined forces with The African Sustainable Development Advisors consultancy group to urge African governments to improve digital coverage in all of their health systems. The call to action was launched last Tuesday (29 June) in a virtual forum hosted for digital health experts and African governments. Exploring how the health system in Africa faces several challenges, including the lack of health equipment and the inequitable distribution of doctors between cities, Afrisda – together with partners such as Andaman7 – sees these challenges as opportunities to be exploited by investors interested in digital healthcare in Africa. It follows that from 2017 to 2020, the number of young companies active in digital health in Africa has increased by more than 55%, according to a report published in 2020 by Disrupt Africa, a platform dedicated to investments and companies in the digital sector.
